As seen in "Spawn Point" screenshot, I spawned in a decent NPC village sitting on an intersection between Desert, Tiaga, and Forest biomes. Wolves spawn in Tiaga right near the village. The village itself sits atop a huge sprawling mine. Ocean to the east. Jungle and Extreme Hills to the North/Northwest.
